Study description
On decaying moss-covered wood of broadleaved trees, with a hemispherical to plano-convex pileus 3 to 10 mm in diameter, brownish-grey to yellowish-brown at the centre, whitish at the margin, adnate to slightly decurrent lamellae, and a cylindrical, hollow, watery, whitish to brownish stipe with basal fibrils.
Pileipellis composed of a layer of cylindrical, hyaline, parallel hyphae 2 to 3.5 µm wide, densely covered with simple to branched cylindrical excrescences 2 to 14 µm long and 1.5 to 3 µm wide.
Caulocystidia present at the stipe apex, cylindrical to flexuous, with rounded apices.
Cheilocystidia very abundant, rendering the gill edge virtually sterile, irregular, subcylindrical, subfusiform to lageniform, slightly sinuous, 25 to 45 µm long and 4 to 8 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia absent.
Basidia clavate, 25 to 35 µm long, 5 to 7 µm wide, 2- or 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to amygdaliform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 7.5 to 9.5 µm long, 4.8 to 5.5 µm wide, with a slightly eccentric apiculus at one pole, containing granular inclusions, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
