Phloeomana minutula
(Sacc.) Redhead

Study description
A fairly common species occurring on decaying mossy trunks and wood of broadleaved trees, formerly known as Mycena olida, with a campanulate to convex pileus 5 to 14 mm across, pale yellowish-brown to whitish, white lamellae adnate to slightly decurrent with a tooth, and a cylindrical white stipe becoming pale yellowish-brown with age.
Pileipellis with a superficial layer of smooth, hyaline hyphae arranged in parallel, 3 to 5 µm wide, lacking or with very sparse excrescences.
Stipitipellis composed of parallel hyphae 2 to 4.5 µm wide, septate with simple septa (clampless).
Caulocystidia present, particularly at the stipe apex, very irregular, flexuous, nodulose, 15 to 50 µm long and 4 to 9 µm wide.
Cheilocystidia subcylindrical to slightly fusiform, sinuous, 35 to 85 µm long and 7 to 11 µm wide.
In some collections, scattered pleurocystidia of similar morphology and dimensions to the cheilocystidia are observed.
Basidia clavate, 25 to 30 µm long, 6 to 7 µm wide, simple-septate at the base, 2-spored.
Spores ovoid to amygdaliform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 6.5 to 7.5 µm long, 4.4 to 5.5 µm wide, with a hyaline apiculus at one end, containing guttules of varying sizes, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
