(Osbeck) Redhead

Study description
On decaying bark and wood of broadleaved trees, with a conical to convex pileus 2 to 10 mm in diameter, pale brown to beige with a paler margin, ascending lamellae, a cylindrical, hollow, white to cream pulverulent stipe with abundant basal fibrils, and without distinctive odour or taste.
Pileipellis with a superficial layer of parallel hyphae 2 to 4 µm wide, bearing simple cylindrical excrescences up to 14 µm high and 1.5 to 3 µm wide, overlying much broader hyphae with short cells.
Stipitipellis with parallel hyphae 2 to 4 µm wide, with scattered caulocystidia that are cylindrical, flexuous, with swellings, apparently clampless.
Cheilocystidia abundant, fusiform to lageniform, 30 to 50 µm long and 10 to 15 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia not observed.
Basidia clavate, 25 to 35 µm long, 6 to 7 µm wide, simple-septate at the base, predominantly 2-spored.
Spores ovoid to amygdaliform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 7 to 9 µm long, 5.2 to 6.5 µm wide, with a hyaline apiculus at one pole, containing oil guttules, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
