Study description
On decaying wood and bark of broadleaved trees, with a hemispherical to convex pileus 2 to 10 mm across, white with brownish tints at the centre, distant, adnate to slightly decurrent white lamellae, and a cylindrical white stipe with a pulverulent surface.
Pileipellis hyphae hyaline, arranged more or less parallel, 3 to 5 µm wide, partly covered with coarse simple to lobed excrescences up to 10 µm long and 3 to 4 µm wide, septate, predominantly clampless.
Cortical layer of the stipe with abundant hyaline caulocystidia of very irregular shapes: cylindrical, flexuous, clavate, bifurcate, frequently clustered in coralloid fascicles.
Cheilocystidia very numerous, subcylindrical to slightly clavate with a rounded apex, 20 to 35 µm long and 5 to 10 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia absent.
Basidia clavate, 20 to 27 µm long, 7 to 9 µm wide, in this collection predominantly 2-spored and lacking basal clamps.
Spores subglobose to ovoid, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 8 to 10 µm long, 6.5 to 8 µm wide, with a prominent apiculus at one pole, containing oil droplets, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
