Under montane conifers on calcareous soil, formerly known as Cortinarius percomis, with a convex to flattened pileus 3 to 7 cm in diameter, yellow to orange, adnate yellow lamellae, a stipe widened at the base, yellow flesh, a pleasant spicy/aromatic odour (of marjoram/curry), and a sweet taste.
Pileipellis composed of interwoven hyphae 3 to 10 µm wide, containing brown intracellular pigment, often with concolorous surface encrustations, widely separated by gelatinization, septate with clamp connections.
Lamellar edge with abundant terminal cells acting as cheilocystidioles, small, clavate, 15 to 25 µm long and 6 to 9 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia absent.
Basidia clavate, 25 to 40 µm long, 9 to 12 µm wide, some containing abundant yellow siderophilous granules inside, clamped at the base, 2- or 4-spored.
