Phlebia tremellosa
(Schrad.) Nakasone & Burds.

Study description
On wood of various coniferous and broadleaf substrates, with resupinate to effused-reflexed fruiting bodies (formerly known as Merulius tremellosus), having a merulioid, porous to reticulate hymenium with radial ribs, orange to pinkish, with laterally confluent caps (pilei) whose upper surface is white and hirsute.
Monomitic hyphal system, composed solely of filamentous, cylindrical, hyaline generative hyphae 2–3.5 µm wide, septate and with clamp connections at the septa.
Hairs of the pileus surface cylindrical, 2–3.5 µm wide, septate and clamped.
Cystidia scattered, cylindrical, occasionally encrusted, measuring 30–45 µm long by 3–4 µm wide, projecting considerably above the basidia.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 20–25 µm long by 3–4 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores cylindrical-allantoid, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, small, measuring 3.5–4.5 µm long by 1.5–2 µm wide, with a pair of small lipid guttules inside (one at each pole), inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
