Study description
On decaying wood of broadleaved trees, with basidiomata varying from resupinate to effused-reflexed with coralloid lobes and a narrow base, forming isolated patches 0.5 to 2 cm across, brownish to cream with a whitish margin, a smooth to granulose hymenium, and waxy consistency.
Hyphal system monomitic, with only filamentous generative hyphae, hyaline, thin- to thick-walled, 2.5 to 5 µm wide, profusely branched, septate with conspicuous clamp connections.
Cystidia or other sterile differentiated hymenial elements absent.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, hyaline, 35 to 45 µm long, 5 to 7 µm wide, clamped at the base, 4-spored, with long sterigmata up to 5 µm.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 6 to 7.5 µm long, 3.5 to 4.5 µm wide, with a slightly pointed apicular end, immature spores containing oil drops, mature ones with faint granular content, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
