Peniophora incarnata
(Pers.) P.Karst.

Study description
On dead decaying wood and fallen branches of broadleaved trees on the ground, with completely resupinate basidiomata tightly adnate to the substrate, reddish-orange, with a smooth to slightly rugose surface and a sharply delimited margin.
Hyphal system monomitic; subicular hyphae smooth, hyaline, moderately thick-walled, 3 to 4 µm wide, branched, septate with clamp connections.
Lamprocystidia abundant, thick-walled, 40 to 55 µm long, 8 to 14 µm wide, heavily encrusted with coarse crystals over their surface.
Gloeocystidia scattered, deeply embedded in the hymenium, 60 to 80 µm long, 7 to 14 µm wide, containing opaque granular contents inside.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 38 to 45 µm long, 4.5 to 6.5 µm wide, clamped at the base, 4-spored.
Spores cylindrical, slightly allantoid, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 8 to 10 µm long, 4 to 5 µm wide, with a lateral apiculus at one end, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
