Peniophora boidinii
D.A.Reid

Study description
An uncommon corticioid fungus with completely resupinate, cracked, pale cream basidiomata, fruiting over the surface of a small decaying twig on the ground, collected in an area dominated by ivy (Hedera helix).
Subicular and subhymenial hyphae difficult to dissociate, forming a dense compact mass of cylindrical hyphae, septate with clamp connections.
Lamprocystidia very abundant, both immersed in the hymenium and protruding above the surface, 23 to 38 µm long, 5 to 9 µm wide, thick-walled, heavily encrusted with coarse crystals apically.
Gloeocystidia narrow, fusiform with pointed apices, distinctly projecting beyond the basidia, 35 to 55 µm long, 4 to 6 µm wide, with abundant granular contents inside.
Basidia cylindrical, at most only very slightly widened at the apex, 22 to 34 µm long, 4.5 to 5.5 µm wide, clamped at the base, 4-spored.
Spores cylindrical to slightly allantoid, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 7 to 9 µm long, 3 to 4 µm wide, with a tapered apicular end, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
