Study description
Species characteristic of strongly manured soils or fruiting directly on dung, with a convex to flattened pileus 1 to 3 cm in diameter, yellowish-brown, deeply radially sulcate-plicate, free lamellae separated from the stipe by a pseudocollarium, and a cylindrical, hollow, fragile white stipe, characterized by its large spores.
Pileipellis cellular, composed of subglobose, cylindrical to pyriform cells 30 to 70 µm long and 20 to 35 µm wide.
Cheilocystidia cylindrical, vesiculose to clavate, 35 to 60 µm long and 15 to 25 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia scattered, cylindrical to vesiculose, ventricose, 70 to 110 µm long and 20 to 35 µm wide.
Basidia clavate, 25 to 45 µm long, 10 to 15 µm wide, lacking basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores subglobose to lentiform, subangular, smooth-walled, dark brown under the microscope, very large, 11.5 to 15 µm long, 8 to 14 µm wide, with an apiculus at one end and an eccentric germ pore at the opposite pole.
