(Uljé & Bas) Redhead, Vilgalys & Hopple

Study description
Species typical of open areas and path margins, with a convex to flattened pileus 0.8 to 2.5 cm across, reddish-brown at the central disc and greyish over a whitish background towards the margin, free lamellae, and a cylindrical, slender, brittle stipe, characterized by the small size of its spores.
Pileipellis cellular, composed of subglobose to vesiculose cells 30 to 50 µm long and 20 to 30 µm wide.
Cheilocystidia clavate to lageniform, 25 to 55 µm long, 15 to 25 µm wide. Pleurocystidia of similar morphology but larger, measuring up to 80 µm long and 20 to 30 µm wide.
Basidia not observed; according to literature, clavate, 20 to 35 µm long, 10 to 13 µm wide, simple-septate at the base, 4-spored.
Spores lentiform to mitriform, smooth-walled, dark reddish-brown under the microscope, 7 to 10 µm long, 6 to 8 µm wide, with an inconspicuous apiculus at one end and a germ pore at the opposite pole.
