(Berk. & M.A.Curtis) R.H.Petersen

Study description
Lignicolous species of tropical and subtropical distribution, fairly widespread in Central America and the Caribbean, with a convex to flattened pileus 3–12 cm across, a white glutinous surface, fairly broad adnate lamellae, and a cylindrical stipe enlarged at the base.
Cuticle (pileipellis) composed of hyaline, cylindrical, thin-walled interwoven hyphae 4–7 µm wide, septate and clamped, with globose, cylindrical to fusiform terminal cells measuring 25–50 µm long by 20–40 µm wide.
Cheilocystidia large, cylindrical to fusiform, moderately thick-walled, measuring 70–155 µm long by 7–14 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia lageniform with an elongated neck, up to 190 µm long and up to 35 µm wide at the base, with homogeneous contents inside.
Basidia clavate, 40–60 µm long by 14–22 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores globose to subglobose, hyaline, smooth- and thick-walled, measuring 14–20.5 µm long by 13–19 µm wide, with an inconspicuous apiculus at one end, containing guttules of varying size inside, golden-yellow in Melzer's reagent (inamyloid).
