Study description
On sandy soils along roadsides, usually fruiting among moss with a preference for acidic soils, with an umbilicate to funnel-shaped pileus 0.8–1.5 cm in diameter, pale brown with pinkish tints, decurrent lamellae, and a mild, sweet fungal taste.
Cuticle (pileipellis) formed by filamentous hyphae arranged more or less parallel, 4–10 µm wide, with faint brown encrusting pigment, septate and clamped.
Caulocystidia present at the stipe apex, cylindrical with rounded apices.
Cheilocystidia not observed, although some authors report sterile terminal cells along the lamellar edge, similar in length to basidia but narrower.
Lamellar trama regular.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 22–30 µm long by 5–7 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to amygdaliform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, measuring 6.8–9 µm long by 3.5–5 µm wide, with faint granular content inside, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
