(Mont.) De Kesel & Degreef

Study description
A pleurotoid fungus of tropical and subtropical distribution, fairly widespread in the Caribbean region, with a small pileus 1–4.5 cm across, white with ochre or pinkish tints, distant decurrent white lamellae, a short lateral stipe, and a bitter taste when raw.
Cuticular hyphae (pileipellis) cylindrical, parallel, loosely interwoven, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 4–6 µm wide, septate and with prominent clamp connections at the septa.
Lamellar edge fertile, without differentiated sterile elements other than basidia and basidioles.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 14–19 µm long by 4–6 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores subcylindrical to ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with a pointed, slightly eccentric apiculus at one end, measuring 5.8–7.5 µm long by 2.8–3.6 µm wide, with faint granular content inside, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
