Mycena leptocephala
(Pers.) Gillet

Study description
Species growing among moss, saprophytic on organic matter such as buried twigs or wood fragments, with a conical to campanulate pileus 8–20 mm across, dark greyish-brown with a whitish margin, adnate lamellae, a cylindrical, hollow, dark brown stipe with a pubescent surface, a nitrous odour, and a raphanoid taste.
Hyphae of the cuticle (pileipellis) cylindrical, arranged more or less parallel, 3–10 µm wide, the outermost with abundant short wart-like excrescences, septate and partially clamped.
Stipe with smooth hyphae or bearing scattered coarse excrescences, with abundant caulocystidia of diverse shapes (clavate, fusiform, pyriform, vesiculose, bifurcated, etc.).
Cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia clavate to fusiform, slightly sinuous, measuring 30–60 µm long by 10–18 µm wide.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 20–25 µm long by 6–8 µm wide, with basal clamps, 2- or 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to slightly amygdaliform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, measuring 7.5–10 µm long by 4–6 µm wide, with oil droplets of varying size inside, amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
