Study description
Species occurring on the bark of living Juniperus trees, especially Juniperus communis, with a hemispherical to convex pileus 3–7 mm across, very pale brown to whitish, broad, adnate, distant lamellae, and a curved, cylindrical stipe of light brown colour with a slightly pruinose surface.
Cuticular hyphae (pileipellis) 2–10 µm wide, simple or branched, with abundant cylindrical excrescences.
Caulocystidia numerous, cylindrical to clavate, up to 45 µm long, with excrescences up to 5 µm long.
Cheilocystidia clavate, measuring 25–40 µm long by 8–11 µm wide, covered with abundant irregular, simple to branched diverticula 3–20 µm long by up to 1.5 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia absent.
Basidia clavate, 35–40 µm long by 11–14 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores subglobose, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with a very slightly pointed end where the apiculus is located, measuring 10–12 µm long by 8.5–10.5 µm wide, with granular content inside, amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
