Species typical of meadows and grassy areas, with a pileus brown at the centre, fading to greyish-ochre tones towards the margin, a cylindrical light brown stipe slightly enlarged at the base, and with the base covered in whitish fibrils.
Hyphae of the cuticle (pileipellis) 2–4.5 µm wide, densely covered with simple to branched excrescences (diverticulate), slightly gelatinised.
Cheilocystidia abundant, highly irregular, fusiform to lageniform, some even bifurcated or with coarse excrescences, measuring 30–75 µm long by 7–23 µm wide.
Basidia clavate, 25–35 µm long by 7–10 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, measuring 7–9.5 µm long by 4–5.5 µm wide, with a hyaline apiculus at one end, containing abundant oil droplets of varying size inside, amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
