Monochaetia monochaeta
(Desm.) Allesch.

Study description
General: Foliicolous coelomycete affecting leaves of Quercus spp., producing acervular conidiomata with erumpent dark brown to black pycnidial structures 0.1-0.15 mm in diameter, scattered profusely across affected leaf surfaces.
Conidiogenous cells: Cylindrical, hyaline, thin-walled, 10-24 x 2-5 µm, with basal septa.
Conidia: Fusiform, 4-septate (5-celled), 20-26 x 5.5-7 µm excluding the appendage; the three central median cells are olivaceous-brown, while the two terminal end cells are hyaline; the apical cell bears a single filiform hyaline setula/appendage up to 12 µm long.
Herbarium voucher: JTP2446/25.
