Study description

General: Apothecia sessile, disc-shaped or flattened, 0.5-2.5 mm diam., hymenium bluish-grey with a slightly paler thick margin, scattered on decaying fallen wood on the ground.

Excipulum: Composed of cells forming a textura globoso-angularis, 10-18 µm in diameter, walls slightly thickened, containing abundant brown intracellular pigment.

Asci: Cylindrical, slightly clavate, 50-65 x 4.5-6.5 µm, spore arrangement biseriate to slightly irregular, apical pore faintly amyloid in Melzer's reagent.

Paraphyses: Filiform, septate at base, 2.5-4 µm wide, filled with abundant refractive vacuolar contents, barely surpassing the asci.
