Mollisia cinerea
(Batsch) P.Karst.

Study description
General: Small lignicolous sessile discomycete, 2-5 mm diam., bluish-grey with a paler margin, saprotrophic on decaying hardwood branches.
Marginal hyphae: Subglobose to cylindrical, arranged parallel, 12-15 µm wide at widest point, hyaline or containing faint brownish intracellular pigment.
Excipulum: Ectal excipulum of textura globulosa-angularis.
Asci: Cylindrical, 8-spored, 40-65 x 4-6 µm, biseriate, with basal croziers, apical pore amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Paraphyses: Cylindrical, filiform, septate, 2.5-4 µm wide, containing refractive vacuolar contents.
Ascospores: Cylindrical to slightly fusiform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 7-11 x 2-3 µm, contents homogeneous without oil droplets.
