Study description
Species typical of mountain meadows and pastures, with a convex to flattened pileus retaining a central umbo, 3–7 cm in diameter, white to very pale cream with an ochre centre, white lamellae with pinkish tints, a cylindrical brownish stipe with whitish longitudinal fibrils, a herbaceous odour, and a sweet, nutty taste.
Cuticle (pileipellis) formed by cylindrical, densely interwoven, thin-walled hyphae 3–6 µm wide, slightly separated by gelification, septate, with simple septa (non-clamped).
Cheilocystidia subulate, stinging-nettle hair-shaped (urticoid), septate, measuring 35–45 µm long by 4.5–7 µm wide, generally with coarse crystalline apical encrustations.
Lamellar trama regular to parallel.
Basidia clavate, 33–38 µm long by 7–9 µm wide, with simple bases (non-clamped), generally 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, hyaline, delicately verrucose-walled, measuring 7.5–9.5 µm long by 5–6 µm wide, with a prominent eccentric hyaline apiculus at one end, containing lipid droplets inside, amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
