Melanoleuca exscissa
(Fr.) Singer

Study description
General: Characteristic of pastures and grassy garden lawns, pileus 4-7 cm diam., grey to brownish at the disc with a paler whitish margin, stipe with white longitudinal fibrils, sweet nutty taste.
Pileipellis: Cutis of filamentous interwoven hyphae 3-6 µm wide with pale brown intracellular pigment, septate with simple septa (clamp connections absent).
Cheilocystidia: Fusiform to lageniform (urticoid cystidia), 45-55 x 8-15 µm, crowned with apical encrusting crystals.
Basidia: Cylindric-clavate, short, 20-25 x 6-8 µm, clampless, 4-spored.
Spores: Ellipsoid, hyaline, verrucose, 7-9 x 4.5-6 µm, with an eccentric apiculus, amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
