Marasmius epiphyllus
(Pers.) Fr.

Study description
General: Inhabiting wet decaying fallen leaves of various broadleaved trees, pileus 4-9 mm diam., white to cream, lamellae vein-like, thick and distant, stipe up to 2.5 cm long, whitish at the apex and reddish-brown towards the base.
Pileipellis: Composed of clavate to pyriform thick-walled cells 10-25 x 4-8 µm, intermixed with fusiform dermatocystidia 30-40 x 4-7 µm.
Caulocystidia: Present along the stipe, pyriform, cylindrical to fusiform.
Lamellar trama: Regular to parallel.
Cheilocystidia: Fusiform to clavate, 35-50 x 6-8 µm.
Basidia: Clavate, 25-35 x 8-10 µm, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores: Fusiform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 8-12 x 3-4.5 µm, densely filled with oil droplets.
