Lyophyllum infumatum
(Bres.) Kühner

Study description
General: Pileus convex, slightly umbonate, pale brown, lamellae white blackening upon bruising, taste sweetish then slightly disagreeable, characterized by rhomboidal spores.
Pileipellis: Cutis composed of filamentous hyphae 3-5 µm wide, parallel to slightly interwoven, terminal elements cylindrical with rounded apices, filled with greyish-brown intracellular pigment, septate with clamp connections.
Lamellar edge: Fertile, lacking differentiated cystidia.
Basidia: Subcylindrical to clavate, 26-40 x 7-9 µm, filled with a dense mass of siderophilous granules, with basal clamp connections, predominantly 4-spored.
Spores: Rhomboidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, pointed and slightly curved at the apicular end, measuring 8-10 x 5.5-6.7 µm in this collection (slightly below the typical range of 8.5-11.5 x 4-6 µm), containing oil guttules, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
