Lopadostoma quercicola
Jaklitsch, J.Fourn. & Voglmayr

Study description
Substrate: Developing on dead wood of Quercus spp., forming stromata containing 4 to 10 perithecia, each measuring 0.5-1 mm in diameter.
Asci: Cylindrical, uniseriate, 8-spored, 65-105 x 5.5-7.5 µm, apical apparatus amyloid in Melzer's reagent, base simple (croziers absent).
Paraphyses: Abundant, filiform, hyaline, sparsely branched or branched only from the base, 2-4 µm wide.
Ascospores: Cylindric-ellipsoid to oblong, smooth-walled, dark brown under the microscope, with a straight to very slightly sinuous germ slit that is difficult to distinguish in fully mature spores.
