Leucoagaricus serenus
(Fr.) Bon & Boiffard

Study description
General: Delicate autumnal species of small stature fruiting among decaying leaf litter in riparian woods, pileus pure white, stipe with a fragile ring, spore print white, faint fungal odor, sweetish taste.
Pileipellis: Cutis composed of parallel cylindrical hyphae, hyaline, thin-walled, 3-6 µm wide, with subclavate terminal elements up to 8 µm wide.
Cheilocystidia: Very abundant, clavate to lageniform, 30-50 x 10-15 µm.
Pleurocystidia: Absent.
Basidia: Clavate, 20-30 x 7-9 µm, base simple (clampless), predominantly 4-spored.
Spores: Ovoid to ellipsoid, smooth, thick-walled, 6-8 x 4-5 µm, with a discrete lateral apiculus, guttulate, dextrinoid in Melzer's reagent.
