R.H.Petersen

Study description
General: Species of considerable size, pileus infundibuliform with an undulate margin, lamellae thick and subdecurrent with a serrate/denticulate edge, taste peppery-acrid.
Pileipellis: Filamentous cutis with hyphae arranged more or less parallel, hyaline, septate with clamp connections; underlying trama containing abundant interspersed laticiferous hyphae filled with bright yellowish oily contents.
Cystidia: Strongly elongated, fusiform to acicular, 35-80 x 7-12 µm, hyaline or with faint granular contents, apices generally pointed.
Basidia: Cylindric-clavate, 20-30 x 5-7 µm, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores: Ovoid to ellipsoid, moderately thick-walled and verrucose, with an inconspicuous eccentric apiculus, containing one or more oil droplets, strongly amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
