Lecidella elaeochroma
(Ach.) M.Choisy

Study description
General: Crustose epiphytic lichen with a whitish thallus displaying faint yellowish to greenish tints, delimited by a distinct black prothallial line. Apothecia abundant, rounded, black, flat to convex, 0.5-1.1 mm in diameter.
Spot tests: Thallus turning yellow with 10% KOH (K+ yellow).
Asci: Cylindric-clavate, 8-spored, 45-60 x 12-18 µm, spore arrangement biseriate to irregular, apical apparatus amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Paraphyses: Filiform, simple, hyaline, thin-walled, without marked apical swelling, uniform in width (1.5-2 µm), projecting above the asci.
Ascospores: Unicellular, smooth, hyaline, distinctly thick-walled, 13-18 x 7-9 µm, densely filled with minute oil guttules.
