Study description
A species associated with decaying broadleaf wood, with stipitate apothecia 1-3 mm in diameter and croziers at the base of the asci.
Marginal hairs cylindrical, septate (1-5 septa), 50-90 µm long and 3-4.5 µm wide, with only very slight apical swelling, the entire surface covered with minute warts or granulations.
Medullary excipulum composed of filamentous, cylindrical, hyaline hyphae, interwoven, 2-4 µm wide, with occasional branching and regular septa.
Ectal excipulum with globose to polyhedral hyphae (textura globulosa-angularis), hyaline, thin-walled, 9-15 µm in diameter.
Asci cylindrical, 8-spored, inoperculate, with biseriate to slightly irregular spore arrangement, 45-60 µm long and 4-5.5 µm wide, with croziers at their base, with an amyloid apical apparatus in Melzer's reagent.
Paraphyses lanceolate, with pointed apices, 4-6 µm wide, projecting 15-30 µm above the asci.
Ascospores cylindrical to slightly fusiform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, homogeneous inside without guttulate content.
