Study description
On decaying grass stems, with white cup-shaped apothecia having a disc diameter of 1-1.5 mm.
Marginal hairs cylindrical, septate, hyaline, 50-70 µm long and 3.5-4.5 µm wide, densely covered across their entire surface with small warts or granulations, terminating in slightly capitate rounded apices.
Medullary excipulum of textura intricata, with hyaline filamentous hyphae densely interwoven, branched, 2-4.5 µm wide, septate.
Ectal excipulum of textura prismatica, with more or less rectangular hyphae, hyaline, moderately thick-walled, 10-22 µm long and 9-12 µm wide, parallelly arranged.
Asci cylindric-clavate, 8-spored, with biseriate to irregular spore arrangement within the ascus, 37-49 µm long and 5.5-6.5 µm wide, without basal croziers, with an amyloid apical apparatus in Melzer's reagent.
Paraphyses lanceolate, 3-5 µm wide, projecting far above the asci, containing abundant pigmented vacuolar bodies that dissolve in KOH.
Ascospores cylindrical to fusiform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with very faint internal oil droplets.
