Baral

Study description
White cup-shaped apothecia, disc diameter 0.5-2 mm, with a short but well-differentiated stipe.
Marginal hairs cylindrical, septate, hyaline, thin-walled, up to 60 µm long (the shortest in the genus), 4-5 µm wide, with an attenuated apex, entirely covered with fine incrustations conferring a verrucose to granular texture.
Medullary excipulum hyphae filamentous, of textura intricata, hyaline, 2-3 µm wide, septate with simple septa.
Ectal excipulum hyphae of globose to angular texture, hyaline, moderately thick-walled, up to 25 µm long.
Asci cylindrical, 8-spored, 45-60 µm long and 5-6 µm wide, with biseriate to slightly irregular spore arrangement, without basal croziers, with an amyloid apical apparatus in Melzer's reagent.
Paraphyses lanceolate, 4-6 µm wide, projecting 4-10 µm above the asci.
Ascospores cylindrical to fusiform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with very faint oil content inside, practically homogeneous.
