Inocybe xanthomelas
Boursier & Kühner

Study description
An Inocybe very similar to Inocybe praetervisa, but with caulocystidia distributed across the entire stipe surface and smaller spores.
Pileipellis with an upper layer of parallel hyphae, 4-7 µm wide, with abundant yellowish-brown encrusting pigment, septate and clamped; underlain by broader hyphae up to 18 µm wide with short septa.
Caulocystidia present over the entire stipe surface, fusiform to lageniform with apical crystallizations.
Cheilocystidia fusiform to slightly lageniform, ventricose, 50-65 µm long and 15-22 µm wide, wall thickness 2-3.5 µm, with abundant hyaline apical crystallizations, intermixed with thin-walled, hyaline, clavate to pyriform paracystidia.
Pleurocystidia morphologically identical to cheilocystidia, slightly longer (up to 75 µm).
Basidia clavate, 25-32 µm long and 9-12 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores oblong, nodulose, with prominent protuberances, yellowish-brown under the microscope, with a slightly more pointed and hyaline end bearing the apiculus.
