Study description
A species associated with deciduous trees, collected in early summer, with a cap reddish-brown at the center and whitish to cream toward the margin, with caulocystidia restricted to the upper stipe.
Pileipellis composed of hyphae arranged more or less parallelly, 5-12 µm wide, with pale yellow intracellular pigment, septate and predominantly clamped.
Caulocystidia present only on the upper stipe, cylindrical to clavate.
Cheilocystidia scattered, fusiform, walls up to 2 µm thick, apex encrusted with crystals, intermingled with much more numerous subcylindrical, clavate to pyriform cells.
Pleurocystidia scattered, fusiform, 55-65 µm long and 10-15 µm wide, with apical crystallizations.
Basidia clavate, slightly ventricose, 30-40 µm long and 10-12 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores fusiform to amygdaliform, smooth- and thick-walled, yellowish-brown under the microscope, with a slightly eccentric apiculus at one end, containing oil droplets, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
