Inocybe nitidiuscula
(Britzelm.) Lapl.

Study description
A species with a well-defined pointed umbo, preferring basic soils, with caulocystidia restricted to the stipe apex.
Pileipellis composed of filamentous hyphae arranged more or less parallelly to slightly interwoven, 7-12 µm wide, with brownish-ochraceous intracellular pigment, often with brown surface incrustations, septate and partially clamped.
Caulocystidia present only at the stipe apex, lageniform and generally with apical crystallizations.
Cheilocystidia fusiform to slightly lageniform, 40-60 µm long and 10-17 µm wide, with walls up to 2 µm thick.
Pleurocystidia numerous, fusiform, 50-75 µm long and 14-18 µm wide, with faint apical incrustations.
Basidia clavate, 26-34 µm long and 10-13 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to slightly amygdaliform, smooth- and thick-walled, pale yellowish-brown under the microscope, with an inconspicuous eccentric apiculus at one end and internal oil droplets.
Herbarium material available: JTP2148/24.
