Velen.

Study description
A species typical of calcareous soils, with a brown cap having a paler margin and a prominent central umbo.
Pileipellis composed of parallelly arranged hyphae, 7-12 µm wide, with brownish-ochraceous intracellular pigment and minute brown incrustations, septate and clamped.
Caulocystidia present only on the upper third of the stipe, morphologically identical to the cheilocystidia.
Cheilocystidia fusiform to lageniform, 45-70 µm long and 10-16 µm wide, thick-walled (up to 2.5 µm thick), with apical crystallizations, intermixed with scattered pyriform paracystidia.
Pleurocystidia scattered, similar in morphology and dimensions to cheilocystidia.
Basidia clavate, 26-34 µm long and 8-10 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to amygdaliform, smooth- and thick-walled, yellowish under the microscope, with an inconspicuous lateral apiculus at one end and faint granular internal content.
Herbarium material available: JTP2233/24 and 2279/24.
