Asci cylindrical, 8-spored, uniseriate, up to 150 µm long and 6-8 µm wide, with all spores concentrated in the upper half of the ascus, with an amyloid reaction of their minute apical apparatus in Melzer's reagent.
Ascospores ellipsoidal, noticeably flattened on one side, dark brown under the microscope, with a dehiscent perispore and a sigmoid germ slit extending almost the entire spore length.
