Hyphoderma ayresii
(Berk. ex Cooke) Boidin & Gilles

Study description
General: Completely resupinate corticioid basidiomata, cream-colored with a smooth hymenial surface, pantropical in distribution, formerly known as Lopharia ayresii.
Hyphal system: Monomitic; subhymenial and subicular hyphae tightly compacted and difficult to dissociate, hyaline; subhymenial hyphae thin-walled, 2-4 µm wide; subicular hyphae moderately thick-walled, up to 5 µm wide, septate with clamp connections.
Cystidia: Abundant lamprocystidia, 65-105 x 12-18 µm, wall 4-6 µm thick, encrusted with coarse calcium oxalate crystals, projecting prominently beyond basidia.
Basidia: Clavate, 45-70 x 7-11 µm, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores: Cylindric-ellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 9-13 x 6-8 µm, with an eccentric apiculus, guttulate, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Herbarium vouchers: JTP2239/24 and JTP2360/25.
