(De Not.) Petrini, Samuels & E.Müll.

Study description
Blackish disc-shaped ascomata appearing on a small twig of Juniperus thurifera still attached to the tree.
Asci clavate to cylindric-clavate, thick-walled, 8-spored, with biseriate to irregular spore arrangement occupying almost the entire ascus, up to 140 µm long and up to 40 µm wide, virtually negative in Melzer's reagent.
Interascal material consisting of hyaline pseudoparaphyses, multiseptate, with abundant swellings especially in the terminal cell.
Ascospores oblong to ellipsoidal, very dark brown, with a central septum and slight constriction at the septum, two prominent germ pores (one at each pole), and a minutely verruculose surface that is difficult to observe due to heavy pigmentation.
