Quadr.

Study description
A species with a bicolored brick-red cap with a whitish margin, and an odor reminiscent of cocoa.
Suprapellis with a layer of hyaline filamentous hyphae, 2-5 µm wide, widely separated by gelification, septate with clamp connections; beneath these lies an almost cellular structure of short cylindrical to vesiculose hyphae, with abundant brown intracellular pigment inside.
Caulocystidia present on the stipe surface, cylindrical, sinuous, with basal clamps and rounded apices.
Cheilocystidia abundant, cylindrical, slightly sinuous, some very slightly widened at the base or apex (slightly capitate).
Basidia clavate, 25-35 µm long and 6-10 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores amygdaliform to almond-shaped, very slightly verruculose-walled, yellow under the microscope, with a lateral apiculus at one end, distinctly dextrinoid in Melzer's reagent.
