Hebeloma laterinum
(Batsch) Vesterh.

Study description
A fairly common species under pines with strongly dextrinoid spores.
Suprapellis with a layer of hyaline hyphae widely separated by gelification, only 2-3 µm wide, septate and clamped; beneath this lies a more compacted layer of hyphae arranged more or less parallelly, up to 7 µm wide, with abundant brownish-ochraceous intracellular pigment inside.
Cheilocystidia abundant, cylindrical, sinuous, slightly widened at the apex, up to 50 µm long and 6-9 µm wide.
Basidia cylindric-clavate, 25-33 µm long and 7-9 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores citriform to amygdaliform, thick-walled and moderately verrucose, yellowish-brown under the microscope, with darker warts, an eccentric apiculus at one end, strongly dextrinoid in Melzer's reagent, turning very dark reddish-brown.
