Hebeloma cistophilum
Maire

Study description
A species mycorrhizal with rockroses (Cistus).
Outer suprapellis with densely interwoven hyphae widely separated by gelification, hyaline, thin-walled, 3-7 µm wide, with only faint encrusting pigment and coarse clamp connections at the septa. Beneath these lie more compacted hyphae with short septa and a width up to 15 µm.
Cheilocystidia very abundant, rendering the gill edge virtually sterile, cylindrical, slightly swollen at the base with a long neck, up to 70 µm long and up to 14 µm wide.
Basidia up to 40 µm long by 8-10 µm wide, with basal clamps, generally 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to amygdaliform, moderately thick-walled and practically smooth, with an eccentric apiculus at one end, conspicuous internal oil droplets, indextrinoid in Melzer's reagent.
