Gymnosporangium atlanticum
Guyot & Malençon

Study description
On a living branch of Juniperus thurifera, in Sabinar de la Retuerta (Zaragoza).
This study corresponds to the telial stage of the species.
Teliospores of two types, both two-celled, with a prominent central septum.
The first and more common type corresponds to slightly fusiform teliospores, very thick-walled, with a distinct constriction at the septum.
The second and less common type corresponds to ellipsoidal teliospores, likewise very thick-walled and without a conspicuous constriction at the septum.
Basidiospores very difficult to obtain (only 3 obtained), ellipsoidal to oblong, thin-walled, with granular internal content.
The measurements provided here for the teliospores apply indiscriminately to both types.
