Study description
Pileipellis composed of filamentous hyphae, hyaline, slightly thick-walled, with golden-yellow incrustations, up to 15 µm wide, mostly grouped in clusters, more abundant on the scales, radially arranged, with rounded ends, septate and with some clamps.
Cheilocystidia subcapitate to lecythiform, only up to 30 µm long, thin-walled, with faint brownish-ochraceous internal pigment. Pleurocystidia scarce, scattered, morphologically identical to cheilocystidia.
Basidia clavate, up to 30 µm long and 10 µm wide, with basal clamps, containing small lipid droplets, mostly 4-spored, alternating with some 2-spored basidia.
Spores ovoid to ellipsoidal, thick-walled and verrucose, yellowish-brown under the microscope, with coarse and abundant darker warts, an eccentric apiculus at one end, strongly dextrinoid in Melzer's reagent, turning very dark reddish-brown.
