Glonium lineare
(Fr.) De Not.

Study description
On decaying decorticated wood on the ground, with very narrow, elongated hysterothecia up to 2 mm long and 0.2 to 0.3 mm wide, blackish and carbonaceous in texture, opening via a longitudinal slit to discharge the spores.
Peridium carbonaceous, pseudoparenchymatous in appearance, composed of thick-walled hyphae filled with brown intracellular pigment. Internal excipular hyphae globose, thin- to slightly thick-walled, hyaline.
Asci cylindrical to clavate, 8-spored, bitunicate, 65 to 88 µm long, 12 to 14 µm wide, biseriate to irregular in the upper part and uniseriate below, occupying virtually the entire ascus, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Pseudoparaphyses abundant, filamentous, hyaline, septate, 1.5 to 2.5 µm wide, flexuous and profusely branched.
Ascospores ellipsoidal to slightly fusiform, 2-celled (bicellular), with one cell broader and the opposite end slightly tapered, smooth, hyaline, 12.5 to 19 µm long, 5.5 to 8 µm wide, with a transversal septum and a distinct constriction at the septum.
