(Velen.) Kühner

Study description
Filamentous pileipellis, formed by a thick layer of densely interwoven hyphae with faint yellowish-brown intracellular pigment, presumably unclamped.
Caulocystidia present only on the upper stipe, with a long neck and a rounded capitulum (capitate).
Cheilocystidia abundant, up to 45 µm long, of very similar morphology to caulocystidia.
Pleurocystidia not observed.
Basidia cylindrical, slightly ventricose, without basal clamp connections, mostly 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, thin-walled, with internal vacuoles, an inconspicuous slightly eccentric apiculus at one end, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Herbarium material available: JTP2771/26.
