Fomitiporia robusta

Dimitic hyphal system, with yellowish, thick-walled, aseptate skeletal hyphae (2.5 to 5 µm wide) darkening to brown in KOH, and hyaline generative hyphae of identical width with simple septa.

Hymenial setae absent.

Cystidioles present, hyaline, thin-walled, up to 50 µm long.

Basidia not observed; reported in literature as up to 15 µm long, without basal clamp connections, 4-spored.

Spores subglobose, smooth, hyaline, thick-walled when mature, slightly dextrinoid in Melzer's reagent.
