Entoloma sericeum

Pileipellis with an outer layer of parallel hyphae up to 10 µm wide with brown intracellular pigment; below this layer, broader hyphae with shorter cells; both layers with simple septa without clamp connections.

Lamellar edge fertile, without differentiated elements from basidia or basidioles (cheilocystidia absent).

Basidia clavate to ventricose, up to 40 µm long, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.

Spores angular, subglobose, nearly isodiametric, with 5 to 7 slightly rounded angles, a prominent apiculus and a large internal oil droplet.
