Dacrymyces san-augustinii
Kobayasi

Study description
Monomitic hyphal system, formed by very slender filamentous hyphae, widely separated by gelatinization, without clamp connections at septa (simple septa).
Basidia tuning-fork-shaped, 2-spored, with two long sterigmata and without basal clamp connections.
Spores cylindric-allantoid, smooth, thin-walled, with a lateral apiculus, predominantly 7-septate transversally.
Very similar to Dacrymyces variisporus, which also has up to 7-septate spores, but those are much more irregular and considerably larger (12–30.5 x 6–9.5 µm according to keys).
