Cryptocoryneum condensatum
(Wallr.) E.W.Mason & S.Hughes ex S.Hughes

Study description
Sporodochia dark brown to black, covering the substrate (in this case, wood).
Conidiophores short, simple, virtually hyaline, deeply sunken into the substrate and difficult to observe.
Conidia united at their base with numerous pendulous arms (up to eight), with a brown-pigmented base and the remainder weakly pigmented or hyaline, multi-septate, in this study with up to 17 septa.
The spore measurements indicated in this sheet correspond to the individual arms, not the entire conidium, which can reach 30 µm or more in width.
Herbarium material available: JTP1942/23.
