Cortinarius cinnamomeus
(L.) Gray

Study description
Filamentous suprapellis, formed by slender hyphae with abundant emerging terminal elements and ochraceous brown intracellular pigment.
Subpellis with broader hyphae containing intracellular pigment like the suprapellis.
Lamellar edge completely sterile, lined with cylindrical to pyriform cystidia shorter than the basidia (up to 25 µm long), with slight intracellular pigment and basal clamp connections.
Basidia cylindric-clavate, just over 30 µm long, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, very delicately verrucose-walled, yellow under the microscope, with fine darker warts, an inconspicuous eccentric apiculus, and a very weak dextrinoid reaction in Melzer's reagent.
Herbarium material available: JTP2269/24.
